A 16 station Royal College CASC style mock CASC exam will be held  on 20th June 2013 in Sports & Social Club, University  Hospital of Wales, Cardiff

The Mock CASC Exam will have 4 linked(AM) and 8 single stations(PM).There will be 16 or more examiners from different areas of psychiatry. There will be professional actors.All efforts will be to replicate the Royal College CASC exam environment.Please complete the registration form for bookings

Mock CASC Exam 4th December (Photo News Feed) New!


December4th, 2012, Cardiff: Cardiff CASC Training (CCT) held its second session of CASC training event in Sports&Social Club, University Hospital of Wales Cardiff. The event was attended by more than 60 people including consultants, specialist registrars, candidates and Actors.

The Day commenced with the registration process and an introductory talk about the CASC Exam and Cardiff CASC Training.The candidates were given a folder with all the required information. The outline of the Day was planned and engineered by the CCT core committee members

There were Specialist Registrars (Higher Trainees) present at the occasion that played key role in organization of the Day. The Specialist Registrars who attended the occasion were:

There were individual inductions sessions held for examiners, candidates and actors.The candidates were divided into two groups matched with circuits A&B.The first half of the mock exam involved linked stations circuit, followed by tea/coffee break.In the second half, the candidates attempted the single stations.The circuits were well managed by a team of circuit managers.There were 13 examiners who attended the Mock CASC Exam:

The mark sheets were given to the candidates followed by the feedback forms and certificates. The day ended with great appreciations from all present for the remarkable initiative by Cardiff CASC Training Committee and for the excellent management of the event.The event was mainly sponsored by the Wales Deanery, along with some contributions from the candidates and pharmaceutical companies Otzuska, Pfizer and Rosemont

Cardiff CASC Training is a nonprofit organization (Reg.no 08038178) and is managed by committee of five members.

 

 

 

CASC Skills Workshop 14th November 2012( Photo News Feed) New!

 

14th November 2012- Cardiff CASC Training arranged a CASC Skills Workshop in Llandough Hospital Cardiff. The event was attended by more than 35 people, including consultants, higher trainees, candidates and professional actors.The day started witha  registration process. The candidates were given their folders including the workshop manual.The day started with an introductory talk about the CASC training and the workshop theme.The candidates were divided into groups A and B along with the facilitators.

The first half of the workshop went for 65 minutes, followed by a Coffee break and candidates swap over.The second part of the workshop continued for another 65 minutes, followed by lunch, certificates and feedback.The event was well appreciated and attracted attendance from candidates all across Wales

We are hoping to organize a CASC Training Day on 4th July 2012 in Whitchurch Hospital.

The day will have a Clinical Skills Workshop in morning and a 12 station Mock Exam in afternoon.
